When I took my previous shot of the Capitol and the protest camp, I didn't have my long lens (see below in the comments). So, I came back a couple of weeks later armed with my 70-300mm. Didn't have as interesting of a sky, but I like the framing better. How do you think they compare?

Had Veteran's Day off from work, so I figured I'd go check out the Occupy DC protests.  While I don't remotely agree with their politics, I'm fascinated by the phenomenon of "occupying" as a form of protest.  More after the break.  


It's just not what you usually see in downtown DC.  The occupiers really have made McPherson Square their home, albeit a ramshackle temporary home.

TEDx MidAtlantic 2011 was held on October 29, 2011 at Sidney Harman Hall in Washington, DC.  I was lucky enough to be invited shoot this great event. A couple of weeks ago, I went down to the National Gallery of Art to take some pictures of a cool light sculpture titled The Multiverse.  More after the jump.





This installation by Leo Villareal features approximately 41,000 computer-programmed LED lights down its 200 foot length.  You can read more about it here and you see the rest of my pictures of this work on Flickr.

Despite my bumbling and fumbling, they were pretty game for letting me pose them in silly positions all around the Capitol grounds.
